We are excited about all of the new developments that have happened recently concerning jQuery. Scott Guthrie announced the Microsoft will support jQuery in Visual Studio. Joe Brinkman announced today that  DotNetNuke 5.0 will support jQuery.

We have started using a lot of jQuery in our DotNetNuke modules. For example, Virgil used jQuery for the Ratings control in our WebControls. Here is an example of a DotNetNuke Social Network and Social Search Engine site that uses our webcontrols extensively.

Here is an example of jQuery being used for the ratings from our Business Search module:

As you can see, it supports half stars and rollover effect. It works very cleanly and quickly.

Tim Maler made changes to a the ListView template in our Search Directory module to create a very cool carousel of images from the latest videos. Here is an example:

jQuery is very flexible and you can create some very cool visual effects with ease. We look forward to creating and seeing other examples of jQuery in DotNetNuke. Tim Maler will be making future post here with example source code. Stay tuned for more!
