1. What is the error in the logs when it tries to crawl the feeed?
2. Feeds will be made inactive if Seamus crawls them 3 times and encounters an error.
3. Timeout error means your site is running slow.
4. Then you have an issue with your server. We have a server with 3 million records so performance is not an issue, rather something going on on your end.

When I add the feed and run "Reload Index" for the first time it shows Robots.txt Banned in the message and feeds gets inactive. I go make the feed active and again run "Reload Index" no errors.

I dont know why is Seamus trying to crawl itself. It is anyway showing the last index items. Even if it is crawling it could index other modules on the page and not itself. This clearly indicates that my site is not slow.

I agree the server I am running Venexus is not a production server. But still it is AMD 3000+ with 3GHz and 2GB RAM. I think this is decent enough configuration to run a single site. Well there are no issues with other modules and other pages on the site. So again I dont think there are any issues with my server.

What does your Robots.txt file have in it?

Seamus is not trying to "crawl itself". It is timing out trying to crawl "http://midday.amieo.cyn/Default.aspx?TabId=73"? Is that a valid URL???

Are you using the fulltext version or not? There is no reason search results should be slow if you are using MS SQL Server FTI. We have performed extensive research on the fastest FTI queries and it has been tested in multiple environments with various number of records. Search results were also benchmarked against DNN search results and were found to be 4 times faster in every case. If you are getting "slow" results, then you definitely have a server issue somewhere, and it could be your SQL Server.

Try increasing your execution timeout in the web.config.

Also, there is a new version that has a small fix that may help.
