 Hi.

I thing there is something strange with our search.

I have added the search to a portal, then I have added the domain to the same portal, so it wil index all my pages, and not only the HTML modules.

If I search after a word in one of the News Articles headings, I only get a result for the one on the front page, and not on the actual article. I also see that the Total Items Queued = 0

Is there a way to find out why the page has not been indexed?

And is there a way not to index the frontpage? I tride to add the frontpage to the Excluded Items , but then is said it would also remove alot of other pages, so that would not work i guess.

Best regards
Vidar

Look in Manage Queue and make sure no pages are locked.

To exclude the homepage, add the full URL.

Hi.

1) There is no entries in the queue.

2) If I add http://www.kretslopet.no/ to the Exclude I get this message:

The exclude text you have added will remove the following indexed items:
Bruker logg inn
Kretsl?pet - tidsskrift for avfall og gjenvinning
1-06 Kretsløpet.pdf
2-07 Kretsløpet.pdf
2-06 Kretsløpet.pdf
1-08 Kretsløpet.pdf
3-06 Kretsløpet.pdf
2-08 Kretsløpet.pdf
1-07 Kretsløpet.pdf
3-07 Kretsløpet.pdf
3-08 Kretsløpet.pdf
4-06 Kretsløpet.pdf
4-08 Kretsløpet.pdf
4-07 Kretsløpet.pdf
5-06 Kretsløpet.pdf
5-07 Kretsløpet.pdf
6-07 Kretsløpet.pdf
Kretslopet2009.pdf
6-06 Kretsløpet.pdf
5-08 Kretsløpet.pdf

Are you sure you want to de-index these items?

And I am sure I would like to index all those PDF docuements.

Best regards

1. What version of Seamus are you using.

2. Add http://www.kretslopet.no/default.aspx, not just the domain.

Hi.

Thanks for the follow-up Jeff.

We are using version 4.00.02 on both Seamus and Search.

I added the whole url, and then I wanted to delete only two indexes, and that was some url's I wanted to get rid of. But I still get a hit on the frontpage if I search for "Astrid", and I do not get a hit for the page where the actual article resides.

Add the following token to the VenexusSearch template: [REMOVERESULT]

That will allow you to delete any undesired result. I do want to note that the token [NOTRELATED] does not "delete" the item, rather removes it only for that search query.

As for the article, what module are you using to display the article? Do you see the item in the Seamus Queue (crawled or not)? If it is in the queue, look in Manage Errors in Seamus and see if it generated an error. You can also add items to the queue via Seamus > Control Panel > Manage Queue.

If this does not work, please provide an URL so we can look at the markup to see what is going on.
