How do I make a page associated with a category?
I am using the Venexus Search and Category modules and want to know how I can make certian pages show up under a specific category. On the site we are working on, we have 6 "Disiplines". Each discipline has been added as a cateory. Now when I do a search for discipline 1, for example it needs to show the results for that cateory. I think i am almost there, I just dont understand how to associate pages and files (pdf) on my site to specific categories. I am certian that I am just missing something.
Can anyone give me any ideas?
Thanks

There are a couple of ways to go about it. 1. VenexusSeamus and VenexusModeration You can enable Moderation in VenexusSeamus and anytime something is aggregated/crawled and added to the index, it will become visible in the VenexusModeration module. In there you can edit each item and associate to a category before approving the item to become visible. This method does require you to approve every item before it is visible from any of the modules. Ther eis also the ability in the module settings of VenexusModeration to set the IndexItem TabId for more advanced editing ability. 2.VenexusSearch and VenexusIndexItem In VenexusSearch you can set the IndexItem TabId and if you have edit rights to module, you will see a link to Edit Item. In the edit form on VenexusIndexItem you will see a list of categories if it has been enabled in the module settings. |

I went with Option 2. That does exactly what I want it to do! Thanks! |

When I try to edit an item in the IndexItem, it automatically sets the the url to the page i am on (in my case, it is the results page). Also, lets say it is an indexed page that shows up in the IndexItem list, how do i make it show up in the search? I have added the item to the category for this page, I checked published. I replaces the url value to the page which should be accessed. Seemed to work just fine last week, I can not reproduce it this now. Can someone remind me how to make this work? |

"When I try to edit an item in the IndexItem, it automatically sets the the url to the page i am on (in my case, it is the results page). " - I took a look at the code and it looks like it is working corectly in the version that should be released today, if not already. The only way I can think that there could be an issue is if your IndexItem module is on the same page as the search results?
"Also, lets say it is an indexed page that shows up in the IndexItem list, how do i make it show up in the search? I have added the item to the category for this page, I checked published. " - Are you running moderation? |
